Eileen works at a juvenile prison and lives with her father in a Massachusetts town in the 1960s. Her routine changes when Rebecca, a new psychologist, joins the prison and takes an interest in both Eileen and one of the inmates’ families. A meeting outside work draws Eileen into a situation that looks like a route out of her ordinary life but depends on information Rebecca has not fully shared.
