An actor named Elisabet stops speaking during a performance and is sent to recover at a coastal house with Alma, the nurse assigned to care for her. Alma fills the silence with increasingly private stories while Elisabet listens and offers little in return. As the women spend more time alone, the boundaries between patient and nurse become harder to maintain.
